Node Creation Process

• Note - The Node creation process is stable and should be used to help populate the Wiki with your Node information; it is still subject to change. But don't worry ThankMeLater will help any created pages get aligned to any major structure changes.

General Structure for Cities/Neighborhoods

• Cities will be Namespaces (This is a core construct of Wikis, and is the part before the fir colon ":" in the URL)
• Neighborhoods will be in their City's namespace
  • Example - /Chicago:Portage_Park
  • Note: Namespaces and Pages are CASE Sensitive, please use Capitol Letters for the City and Neighborhood names
• Neighborhoods belonging to the Category "Node" will appear on the City's Node listing
  • To add your neighborhood to the category "Node" please add [[Category:Node]] to the neighborhood page (This is done on by using the "Edit Source" option, on the neighborhood page, the category tag can be placed anywhere on the page and don't worry it won't show up)
  • The Wiki defines a Node as any neighborhood Sponsored by at least one Designated Upland Entity (DUE)
    • Note: It is possible to have multiple DUEs sponsor a neighborhood, its especially common if there is a more Social DUE and a more Development focused DUE that are working together

DUE stands for Designated Upland Entity. These Entities, are groups of users, individuals, companies, ect and are tagged for the purpose of giving these entities a Category Page, and Template for Sponsoring a neighborhood or identifying any other Upland related activity that entity is involved in.

A list of these entities can be found on the DUEL page, in the left hand navigation.

Benefits of joining the DUE List (DUEL)

• This will serve as a directory for all the various entities, whether it's social/commercial Node sponsors, Upland related media teams, Event coordination groups, special interest groups (Upland Centric), and more
• Being a DUE give you and your entity a framework to create a homepage, category, and template that will make promoting and interacting with the Wiki much easier

Navigating the Wiki (Desktop)

The primary navigation panel for the Wiki is the left side; the two primary sections are the "navigation" section and the City pages, grouped by Tier

Navigation Section Links

• Main page - Brings you back here, to the home page, (Here!)
• Nodes - a directory of all the neighborhoods tagged as a Node (Term)
• DUEL - Designate Upland Entities List, a list of all the great entities that are contributing to the Upland community
• Metaventures - These are official licensed and run businesses inside of Upland
• Block Explorers - A run list of all the amazing Block Explorers (Term) found in Upland (Does NOT include Director's Explorers)
• Buildings - A list of all the current building types in the game, that can be built using Spark
• Events (History) - The history of all* the events that have happened in Upland (*Note this is a work in progress, and is still missing a lot of events, so feel free to add to it :) )
• Terms - Want to learn the Upland Lingo? This is a great place to get caught up and be able to talk like a true Upland veteran!
• FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions is the place to go to get all those burning questions answered! Don't see your question on the list? Be sure to check out the Discussion Page and add it!

Navigating the Wiki (Mobile)

The Upland Wiki is 100% accessible via mobile devices, but has not yet been "optimized"

If you have feedback for enhancements to the mobile experience; please let us know!

What's Live?

• All City Home Pages have been created /City_Name:Home
  • All cities can be found on the left nav bar, by Tier
• Node and Neighborhood Creation under way
• Metaventures starting page created, with links to existing shops
  • Note if you run a Metaventure and would like a page for it, lets make it happen!
• Landing page for FAQ in place (Needs content)
• Designated Upland Entity (DUE)
  • This is what we will be used to identify, groups, individuals, corporations, teams, ect
  • Creating a DUE will enable the owners of these entities to quickly and easily mark nodes or other Upland Projects they sponsor
  • These entities will be a key competent in helping new users find the right projects and entities they want to work with, so its strongly encouraged to look at creating one for yourself/your organization
  • DUE List (DUEL) is now listed on main navigation menu
