The Upland.me Dogpatch neighborhood is rich with unique history related to the early days of the games development and continues to be one of the most active, controversial, and influential neighborhoods in Upland.
In April 2020, Nichiren was elected as the “Corrupt Mayor of Dogpatch”. Shortly after more honorable and trusted players joined to form the “Dogpatch Business Collective” resulting in Nichiren relinquishing control over to the neighborhoods direction and holding only a symbolic position. Today you can find Nichiren cleaning the dog shit off the streets from a tractor he probably stole from JimJuice (Mayor of Little Hollywood).
In mid-2021 the Dogpatch played an instrumental role in Upland’s Spud Wars. Although 1/7th the size of the strongest neighborhood competitors, the Dogpatch set the narrative for the battle with the infamous “Chernobyl” war plan (named by TML), the establishment of an assassins’ group, and a 24/7 commitment to win by Dogpatch players. Against odds, the Dogpatch was 1 of 3 neighborhoods to earn an official Upland neighborhood rating to help advance closer to making the Dogpatch an official collection. Today you can visit this statue in the Dogpatch. This rare achievement can be attributed to all the Dogpatch players and in part by the help of Mar$Utah and his Red Planet Industry clans ability to support the war at all hours.
By the end of 2021, property prices in the Dogpatch soared to unprecedented levels with small property now selling at $10,000.00USD to $100,000.00USD. Property prices in Mission Bay and Potrero Hill continue to see a steady increase in their price floors benefiting from the Dogpatch activity. More telling is the increased interest by business owners and players looking to grow out their own unique vision in the Dogpatch, Mission May and Potrero Hill.
Established in early 2020, the Dogpatch’s community development plans have had no need for revisions since inception. Progress continues to be steady; our strategy continues to pay off with a growing player base interested in the Mission Bay and Potrero Hills neighborhood plans, committed business owners ready to release décor, café, and car shops, and early success with the release of Uplands first ever BE shops located in Dogpatch — The Wise Owl and Nichiren’s Explorer Shop. This success is a testament to the community’s commitment to making the Dogpatch and noted surrounding neighborhoods a place of interest that players and business owners should seriously consider when playing Upland.
