What is a Micro-city?

A micro-city supports an active community of micro-citizens that live, work, and govern a neighborhood. It differs from a built-up community or a node by emphasizing the importance of an active population of gamers that calls this neighborhood home in the Upland.me metaverse.

Morningside Park Micro-City contains an active community of builders, artists, entrepreneurs, and Upland enthusiasts who are seeking to collectively develop the next gen of Upland in LA. Our focus is to actively support every micro-citizen to develop in the game. Eventually, Morningside Park Micro-City will become a DAGG (DAO + Gaming Guild) that supports its members with exclusive benefits as they make their way on their Upland journey.

Our Master Building Plan:

The standard home in Morningside Park Micro-City will remain the ranch house, which is part of the original city's building style. However, our members are creating vibrant sub-communities within Morningside that include Mansion Row (2nd Avenue between Century BLVD and Hardy Ave), apartments clustered close to Sofi Stadium, and a dense matrix of structures between Pincay Ave and Manchester BLVD.

The micro-citizens of MP are bringing the community to life in Upland. Our standard model is necessary but Upland.me currently is missing other important local architectural styles found in SoCal such as Spanish Colonial Houses. Ultimately, MP micro-citizens will design custom builds for larger, iconic virtual lots such as the cemetery and smaller plots with limited UP 2 properties near Manchester BLVD.

2. Sofi Stadium, the latest WOW! stadium that hosts two NFL teams, and will soon host FIFA and the Olympic Games in 2028.

Morningside Park's Proposed Business District:

Based on the current building trends, the southwestern quadrant of MP micro-city is home to many larger structures such as apartment buildings, and a dense neighborhoods of small plots that can support small businesses in a future iteration of the Upland metaverse.

Morningside Park's proposed business district will support large businesses like NFLPA shops, as well as small businesses hosted in a dense community just north of Sofi Stadium.

Racing in Morningside Park Micro-City:

The infamous Circle of Death racing circuit:

The infamous Circle of Death is designed to promote hazardous driving for all. 10 laps around Circle Park where the racer must dare to enter the intersection blind to oncoming traffic. Accidents will occur. Who will survive to the end? Estimated finish time: unknown.

Morningside Park Classic (a loop track):

The Morningside Park Classic is a loop track that travels through the proposed business district for our micro-city, taking in the iconic sites of the area including The Forum and Sofi Stadium. Based on two loops of the proposed track, a typical race is expected to last around 3 minutes.

Morningside Park Rally:

The MP Rally starts and ends in a different place making it a daring race to the finish through windy streets and enticing straightaways. Given that no loops will be performed, a typical race is expected to last around 90 seconds.

The Morningside Rally will take in most of the northwestern part of the neighborhood.

Morningside Park Drag Strip:

The micro-citizens will determine the path of the city's drag strip by competitively building up the southeastern quadrant of MP. The 1-mile straight that is the most developed by September 1st will become our drag strip.
